Report on Tea Board of India's Pavilion at Taipei International Food Show 2012 (27-30 June, 2012)

Taipei International Food Show organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), is a leading food and beverage show of South East Asia attracting participation from the world over.

Tea Board of India participated for the first time in this show this year as an attempt to penetrate into new and potential markets. The Board's pavilion was organized on an area of 54 sqm at the Taiwan World Trade Centre (TWTC) exhibition hall 1; with following exporters in participation,

  • Premiers Tea Ltd. – represented by Mr. Tushar Mukherjee & Mr. Sabyasachi Thakur
  • Miracle Tea and Spices Co. – represented by Mr. Ketan Patel
  • Bajaj Enterprise – represented by Mr. Sandeep Khaitan
  • Lochan Tea – represented by Mr. Rajiv Lochan
During the four days exhibition the Tea Board pavilion attracted lot of footfall and also generated enquiries which may result into export order in near future. Taiwan has lot of potential as import destination of Indian Tea. Taiwan is registering year on year growth in import of tea as there is an increase of per capita consumption as well as re-export.
